Welcome back everyone! Hope you went apple picking this weekend because this week we are focusing on apples. YAY!
This recipe is one of my morning favorites! I often eat this for breakfast and it keeps me going until lunch time. It has all three food groups; a bit of protein, carbohydrates & lots of fruit!
Apart from being super delicious, it is also super simple to make.
Recipe: Apple cinnamon oatmeal
Portions: 2
Prep: 5 min
Cook: 20 min
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsps water
- 2 apples, Spartan, red
- 1 1/3 cups milk, 1%
- 2/3 cups oats, dry
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp brown sugar
Preparation:
1) In a saucepan, add water & cook apples on medium-high heat for 5 min. Reduce heat to a simmer.
2) Add milk, oats, vanilla essence, cinnamon & brown sugar. Stir. Cover & cook for 10-15 min.
